Ledger Live App:
a practical guide

A thoughtful setup starts with knowing what the app does—and what only you can do.

Ledger Live is a companion app for managing crypto accounts alongside a Ledger hardware wallet. It brings portfolio views, account activity, supported asset management, and device controls into one interface. Before installing, confirm you’re using the official Ledger website or app store listing; check the publisher and never follow download links from unsolicited messages.

Once open, take time to review the account and device details shown in the app. Keep your recovery phrase offline, private, and separate from internet-connected devices. Ledger will never need you to share it with support. If a message, website, or person asks for those words, stop: that request is a serious warning sign.

For a transaction, slow down. Check the address, network, and amount, then compare the details on your hardware device screen before approving. A connected app can help you prepare an action, but the device confirmation is an important step—not a reason to skip careful review.

Finally, keep your app and device firmware current through official channels, use a device passcode, and treat unexpected prompts with caution. Self-custody means taking responsibility: practice recovery planning safely, protect your privacy, and remember that crypto values can change sharply. This guide is educational, not financial advice.
